How ThinkEat handles information related to your food inventory, optional location services, and AI-powered features.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

1. About this policy

ThinkEat Foundation ("ThinkEat," "we," "us," or "our") provides the ThinkEat mobile application and the website at www.thinkeat.org. This policy explains the categories of information involved in using these services, why we use them, and the choices available to you.

2. Information we process

Available features and information categories may vary by app version. You can decline optional device permissions, although some features may then be unavailable.

3. Why we use this information

We process information to provide account access, synchronize food inventories, support authorized household sharing, provide image recognition and recipe suggestions, help find nearby locations, deliver or prepare notifications, enforce usage limits, respond to support and deletion requests, and maintain service reliability and security.

4. Service providers and sharing

We use service providers to operate the app, including Google Firebase services for authentication, databases, cloud functions and messaging; mapping or location providers for location-based functionality; and cloud infrastructure or AI processing providers for selected image and recipe features. Information needed to fulfill a requested feature may be processed by those providers under their applicable service terms.

Inventory and household information in a fridge that you intentionally share may be accessible to its authorized members. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.

5. Security and data retention

We use access controls and encrypted network connections to help protect information transmitted to supported services. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information for the time reasonably needed to provide the service and meet operational, security and applicable legal requirements. Retention periods differ among account and inventory records, temporary processing records, operational logs and backups. Some records are subject to scheduled cleanup and retention policies.

6. Your choices and account deletion

You may edit certain information within the app and control device-level permissions through your phone settings. Registered users can initiate account deletion from Profile → Delete Account in the ThinkEat app.

You can also request deletion without installing or opening the app using our Account Deletion page. We may need to verify your control of the account. A deletion request covers your account and associated personal information, subject to applicable legal and security retention needs. Shared household data and operational copies may require separate handling; contact us for details about your request.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as ThinkEat evolves. The date above shows the last policy update. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
